How are early design considerations handled?
F3 Metalworx prefers to be involved as early as possible in the design of a new product. Engaging our manufacturing teams early has resulted in shorter lead times and a lower-cost product.
What materials are normally utilized in F3 production parts
Hot and cold rolled low carbon steel, 300 series stainless steel, 5000/6000 aluminum, brass and copper are the most common materials. Material thicknesses ranges from 0.015" to 1".
What methods are utilized at F3 Metalworx for joining materials?
Spot welding, projection welding, TIG/MIG/Laser welding, Spotfast PEM Insertion.
What is the most common finish utilized on low carbon steel sheet metal components?
Powder coating, Teflon, Primer & Plating
How do we receive a firm quotation for our parts?
The best method is to email us at sales@f3metalworx.com and define the part(s) as outlined along with attaching the electronic drawing files(s) associated.
What tolerances are normally maintained with precision sheet metal parts at F3 Metalworx?
In general practice we hold +/- 0.005". However, we do hold certain hole sizes or external diameters to +/-0.001" on several parts.
How are parts inspected and documented for quality control?
Our quality culture is built around ISO9000 compliance. We utilize a VIRTEK LaserQC, FaroArm and in-process inspections to ensure all parts are to customer specifications.
